1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and CevyAI ("we", "us", or "our") governing your access to and use of the CevyAI website and services available at cevyai.com (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service
CevyAI is a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform that enables users to automatically generate tailored CVs for specific job listings. The Service uses artificial intelligence technology (Google Gemini API) to analyse your existing CV template and a job listing URL you provide, then generates a customised CV optimised for that particular role.
3. Eligibility and Account Registration
3.1 Age Requirement
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 16 years of age.
3.2 Account Creation
To use the Service, you must create an account by signing in with Google OAuth. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Maintain and promptly update your account information.
- Maintain the security of your account credentials.
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
3.3 Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for:
- Violation of these Terms.
- Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.
- Non-payment of fees.
- Any other reason at our sole discretion.

4. Service Plans and Pricing
4.1 Service Tiers
Free Tier
- Limited CV generation capabilities as specified on our website.
- Access to basic features.
- No payment required.
Pro Tier (£9.99/month subscription)
- Enhanced CV generation capabilities.
- Additional features as specified on our website.
- Monthly recurring subscription.
- Automatically renews unless cancelled.
4.2 Pay-As-You-Go Credits
In addition to the subscription tiers, users may purchase usage credits on a pay-as-you-go basis:
- Credits can be purchased at prices displayed on our website.
- Credits are consumed based on usage as specified on our website.
- Credits do not expire but are non-refundable once purchased.
- Unused credits remain in your account until used or your account is closed.
4.3 Pricing Changes
We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time. Price changes for existing subscriptions will take effect at the next billing cycle following at least 30 days' notice to you. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
5. Payment Terms
5.1 Payment Processing
All payments are processed through Stripe, our third-party payment processor. By providing payment information, you:
- Represent that you are authorised to use the payment method provided.
- Authorise us to charge your payment method for all fees incurred.
- Agree to Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy.
5.2 Billing Cycle
Pro Tier subscriptions are billed monthly on a recurring basis. Billing occurs on the same day each month as your initial subscription date.
5.3 Failed Payments
If a payment fails:
- We will attempt to process the payment again.
- Your access to Pro Tier features may be suspended until payment is received.
- If payment is not received within 7 days, your subscription may be cancelled.
5.4 Taxes
All fees are exclusive of taxes, levies, or duties imposed by taxing authorities. You are responsible for payment of all such taxes, levies, or duties.
6. Refund Policy
- Pro Tier Subscriptions: No refunds will be provided for monthly subscription fees, whether you cancel mid-cycle or for any other reason.
- Pay-As-You-Go Credits: Once purchased, credits are non-refundable regardless of whether they have been used.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your Pro Tier subscription at any time, but you will continue to have access until the end of your current billing period. No pro-rata refunds will be provided for unused time.
6.1 Exceptions
Notwithstanding the above, if we terminate your account due to our error or breach of these Terms, you may be entitled to a pro-rata refund of unused subscription time. This is at our sole discretion.
7. Subscription Management
7.1 Cancellation
You may cancel your Pro Tier subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at [email protected]. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period.
7.2 Reactivation
If you cancel your subscription, you may reactivate it at any time, subject to then-current pricing.
7.3 Downgrading
If you downgrade from Pro to Free tier, the change will take effect at the end of your current billing period.
8. User Content and Intellectual Property
8.1 Your Content
You retain all rights to the content you upload to the Service, including CV templates, personal information, and other materials ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to:
- Store, process, and display your User Content solely to provide the Service.
- Use your User Content to generate tailored CVs via Google Gemini API.
- Backup and restore your User Content for service reliability.
This licence terminates when you delete your User Content or close your account, except where we are required to retain data for legal, regulatory, or accounting purposes.
8.2 Generated CVs
CVs generated by the Service using your User Content ("Generated CVs") are your property. We do not claim ownership of Generated CVs.
8.3 Responsibility for Content
You are solely responsible for:
- The accuracy and legality of your User Content.
- Ensuring you have the right to use all information in your User Content.
- Any claims arising from your User Content or Generated CVs.
You represent and warrant that your User Content:
- Does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
- Does not contain false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
- Complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
8.4 Our Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, software, code, graphics, and all intellectual property rights therein, is owned by us or our licensors. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or reverse engineer any part of the Service.
- Use our trademarks, logos, or branding without permission.
- Create derivative works based on the Service.
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Service.
9. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to use the Service to:
9.1 Prohibited Activities
- Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights.
- Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent information to CVs.
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers/networks connected to it.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service.
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission.
- Harass, abuse, or harm another person or group.
- Collect or harvest information about other users without consent.
- Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorised purpose.
9.2 Scraping and Job Listing Access
- You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to access and use job listing URLs you provide to the Service.
- You must comply with the terms of service of job listing websites when accessing job postings.
- We are not responsible for any violations of third-party terms arising from your use of the Service.
9.3 Enforcement
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of these Terms. We may:
- Remove or disable access to content that violates these Terms.
- Suspend or terminate accounts of users who violate these Terms.
- Report illegal activity to law enforcement.
- Cooperate with legal investigations.
10. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service integrates with and may contain links to third-party services, including:
- Google (OAuth authentication, Gemini API)
- Stripe (payment processing)
- Job listing websites
We are not responsible for:
- The content, privacy practices, or terms of third-party services.
- Any loss or damage arising from your use of third-party services.
- The availability or functionality of third-party services.
Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
11. Service Availability and Modifications
11.1 Service Availability
We strive to provide reliable and uninterrupted Service, but we do not guarantee:
- That the Service will be available at all times or without interruption.
- That the Service will be error-free or secure.
- That defects will be corrected.
- The quality, accuracy, or reliability of Generated CVs.
11.2 Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
- Change features, functionality, or limits of any service tier.
- Impose additional restrictions on Service usage.
We will provide reasonable notice of material changes where practicable, but are not obligated to do so.
12. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
12.1 AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
- Contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate content.
- Not accurately reflect your skills, experience, or qualifications.
- Require review and editing before use.
- Reviewing and verifying all Generated CVs before use.
- Ensuring Generated CVs accurately represent your qualifications.
- Any consequences arising from the use of Generated CVs.
We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of Generated CVs for any purpose.
12.2 Warranty Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
- WARRANTIES THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
- WARRANTIES REGARDING THE QUALITY, ACCURACY, OR RELIABILITY OF GENERATED CVS OR ANY INFORMATION OBTAINED THROUGH THE SERVICE.
12.3 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.
- OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR £100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise), even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
12.4 Exceptions
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In such jurisdictions, the above exclusions and limitations will apply only to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CevyAI and our officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or relating to: your use of the Service, your User Content or Generated CVs, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any rights of another person or entity, or your violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
14. Data Protection and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
15.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.
15.2 Jurisdiction
Subject to Section 15.3, the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or their subject matter or formation.
15.3 Consumer Rights
If you are a consumer (i.e., using the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes), nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer protection law, including your right to bring proceedings in your local jurisdiction.
15.4 Dispute Resolution
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at [email protected] to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will work with you in good faith to resolve the issue.
16. Termination
16.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account and these Terms at any time by:
- Cancelling your subscription (if applicable).
- Closing your account through account settings or by contacting us at [email protected].
No refunds will be provided upon termination by you.
16.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service immediately, without notice, for:
- Violation of these Terms.
- Fraudulent, harmful, or illegal activity.
- Non-payment of fees.
- Prolonged inactivity.
- Any other reason at our sole discretion.
16.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your right to access and use the Service will immediately cease.
- We will delete your User Content and Generated CVs within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, regulatory, or accounting purposes.
- You remain liable for all fees incurred prior to termination.
- Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including but not limited to Sections 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, and 17) shall survive.
17. General Provisions
17.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CevyAI regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications.
17.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
17.3 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.
17.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights hereunder without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
17.5 No Agency
No agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship is created between you and CevyAI as a result of these Terms, and you do not have any authority to bind CevyAI in any respect.
17.6 Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, pandemics, strikes, or shortages of transportation facilities, fuel, energy, labour, or materials.
17.7 Notices
All notices to CevyAI must be sent to [email protected]. Notices to you may be sent to the email address associated with your account. Notices shall be deemed given 24 hours after email is sent, unless the sending party is notified that the email address is invalid.
17.8 Language
These Terms are drafted in English. In the event of any conflict between the English version and any translation, the English version shall prevail.
18. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by:
- Posting the updated Terms on our website with a new "Last Updated" date.
- Sending you an email notification (if you have an account with us).
Material changes will take effect 30 days after notification. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may close your account.
